Netflix has announced that “Leanne” has been updated for season 2.
The multicam comedy starring and co-created by Leanne Morgan made its debut on Streamer on July 31st. I spent two weeks at Netflix GlobalTop 10, reaching the top 10 locals in 13 countries.
“We’re back for the second season! We’re grateful for all the writers, producers, Netflix, WB, our amazing cast, especially all the fans of the show,” Morgan said. “Y’all did this for us and we can’t wait to come back!”
Along with Morgan, the cast of the series includes Kristen Johnston, Celia Weston, Blake Clark, Ryan Styles, Graham Rogers and Hannah Pilkez. The official explanation states:
“Lean (Morgan)’s world is turned over when her 33-year-old husband (Stiles) unexpectedly leaves her to another woman. Supported by her family, including her riding sister Carol (Johnston), Lean learns to embrace mixed chaos, finding strength, laughter and hope in the most unexpected places.
“We are grateful and grateful to Netflix for this incredible opportunity,” said co-creator Chuck Lorre. “Congratulations to Lean and the entire cast and crew. This was an incredible journey that began with a visit to Knoxville, Tennessee. Leanne Morgan is the entire package. A comedy genius, a warm, loving person, and an absolute joy to work with.”
Lorre and Morgan created “Leanne” and Susan McMartin. All three executive productions were with Nick Bakei and Judy Marmell. This series is produced by Chuck Lore Production Inc. in connection with Warner Bros. TV.
In addition to “Leanne,” Morgan will release Stand Up Special’s “The Unspeakable” on Netflix on November 4th. Following 2023’s “I’m Every Woman,” he marks his second special on the streamer.
