Star Hollow returned to Hollywood on Sunday.
During Emmy, “Gilmore Girls” stars Laurent Graham and Alexis Bledel presented awards for comedy writing to mark the show’s 25th anniversary, during which they praised the writers of their beloved series and teased the low budget.
“Twenty-five years ago, a show called “Gilmore Girls” premiered and obviously took the fall hostage season,” Graham said. Bledell added, “In spite of our fall rule, Gilmore was actually a very small show.”
“It means we didn’t have the money,” Graham revealed. “If I had a birthday at the ‘Drew Carry Show’ next door, they would send us the rest of the sheet cake. ” Bledel agreed: “We looked hungry.”
Graham continued. Before Bledel could explain, “We saved all year round to have snow episodes all year round,” then Graham clenched. They had Clooney. They could have had us damn snow. ”
“Essentially, we were bullied and hungry,” concluded Bledel. But on the bright side, “One of the things we had – there was a script,” Graham said. “A scary length script” and Bledel excluded. “Without scripts, there’s no great words,” Graham added. “I don’t know if it’s day or night,” Bledel said. “Whether we’re inside or outside,” Graham finished.
“So, with the spirit of information and jokes-,” Bledel said. “We have a candidate for outstanding writing for the comedy series,” Graham said. The award was sent to the studio.
The last time the two actors reunited on screen was for the revival of a Netflix series entitled “Gilmore Girls: Years of Life.” The series followed Lorelei (Graham) and Rory (Bredell) for a year at Star Hollow, with each episode corresponding to a designated season. The series ends with a cliffhanger, and it is revealed that Rory is pregnant.
Another “Gilmore” reunion is scheduled to take place later this year. The new documentary, entitled “Searching for Stars Hollow,” takes an internal look at the creation of the series. Cast members such as Kelly Bishop, Jared Padelekki, Keiko Agena, Chad Michael Murray, Liz Torres, Sally Stratters, Rose Abdooo, Emily Kuroda, Kathleen Willhoyt, Grant Lee Phillip and Matt Jones will be appearing in the film.
