CNN has announced British television broadcaster and entrepreneur Laura Jackson as the host of the second installment of its multiplatform series Seasons.
Seasons explores the changing trends shaping global culture across fashion, travel, food, technology, design and art.
In the second episode, which will air across digital and social content on CNN International starting December 13, Jackson explores the rise of slow luxury in Europe. From luxury train journeys that restore the charm of travel to English sparkling wine that takes years to perfect, Jackson seeks to show how consumers are moving away from rapid consumption and toward objects and experiences with meaning and purpose.
“It’s an honor to join CNN for this new episode of Seasons,” said Jackson, who is best known on British television screens as the host of the quiz show “Ready or Not” and the dating show spin-off “Take Me Out: The Gossip.” “With the world moving faster than ever, this show is an invitation to pause and rediscover unique and meaningful experiences, and it’s a real pleasure to share them with audiences around the world.”
Ryan Smith, executive director of CNN Global Productions, said, “‘Seasons’ is behind the brand to understand the people and craftsmanship that shape today’s global trends, and Laura Jackson is the perfect host to encapsulate this goal. With a passion for creativity and a unique aesthetic, Laura goes beyond today’s popular culture and explores inspirational lifestyle, travel and luxury trends. We are excited to introduce Laura’s world to CNN’s global audience.”
Apart from his work in television, Jackson is a columnist and co-founder and creative director of an online platform for homewares.
