Mia Tomlinson, who shot to fame with last year’s supernatural hit “The Conjuring: The Last Rites,” has signed with UTA.
The record-setting ninth installment of New Line’s hit global horror series marks the feature film debut for the burgeoning Brit with experience in film, television and theater. In a performance that was praised by critics, she played the adult Judy Warren, the daughter of Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson’s paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren. “The Conjuring” was released by Warner Bros. Pictures on September 5th and has grossed approximately $500 million worldwide to date.
Prior to “The Conjuring: The Last Rites,” Tomlinson starred in director Nick Alexander’s award-winning short film “Bandits,” which won a gold medal at the Cannes Young Directors Awards. She is also known for her supporting role in Britbox’s British thriller series The Beast Must Die, which is based on the novel by Nicholas Blake. The five-part series, about a mother who plots the murder of the person she believes killed her son in a hit-and-run, co-stars Cush Jumbo, Jared Harris and Geraldine James.
On stage, she played Joan Rivers in Roy Smiles’ Funny Girls, opposite Rosanna Harris, at the New Wimbledon Theatre.
Tomlinson’s first major role came in 2021 when he was cast in Netflix’s historical documentary series The Lost Pirate Kingdom, which depicts the rise and fall of the early 18th century pirate republic in Nassau, Bahamas. She played the famous female pirate Anne Bonny in a cast that also included James Oliver Wheatley, Sinead MacInnes, and Tom Padley.
