Lady Gaga and her fiancé Michael Polanski attended the Grammy Awards together. The couple showed particular intimacy after Gaga was announced as the winner of the award for Best Pop Vocal Album. Gaga, who is nominated for six awards tonight for Mayhem, spoke about Polanski helping produce the album.
Lady Gaga brought fiancé Michael Polanski to tonight’s Grammy Awards date, and the couple were photographed having a particularly sweet moment after Gaga won Best Pop Vocal Album. When her name was called, they hugged each other.
On stage, she began her speech with a shoutout to her partner.
“First I have to thank my partner Michael,” she said. “I love you so much. You’ve been by my side every day and worked so hard with me all year for this album that I can’t thank you enough for. That’s why I love you and thank you.”
He blew her a kiss as the camera panned to him during her speech.
The two were photographed nearby throughout the ceremony.
Polanski helped produce Gaga’s album Mayhem, which won six of her seven nominations tonight. The full album is nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. The single “Abracadabra” is nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Dance-Pop Recording. Its track “Disease” is nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance.
Last January, the couple spoke to ELLE about their relationship and making music together. Gaga told Polanski that she “helped write about seven songs.”
He elaborated on the experience, saying, “One of the most incredible things about this chapter of my life is living and co-existing with someone who is making art and being creative in a way that most people don’t get to experience. I feel really lucky to have been there.”
“Mayhem,” in particular, was “a lot of fun to watch her create,” he said. “She recorded this song right down the street from our house, so it was easy to walk to and from the studio. I spent a lot of time with her and even brought my laptop to work while she was there. What surprised me the most was how fast she was. I couldn’t believe how quickly the song took shape. Within five minutes, 80 percent of the song would have come from nothing.”
