They were born for “Runway.”
Lady Gaga and Doechii have released their new single “Runway”. This song was featured in the 20th Century Fox film The Devil Wears Prada 2.
On the upbeat dance track, Doechii sings, “A little cheeky, a little on the side of your butt, a little twirl.” “I feel great, I feel free, I feel special,” Gaga sings. Together they sing the chorus, “From Monday to Sunday, we can turn the dance floor into a runway.” In the outro, the pair repeat, “You were born for the runway.”
Andrew Watt co-produced the song with Bruno Mars, Cirkat, and Durnst “D’Mile” Emile II. Watt also co-wrote the song with Gaga, Mars, Doechee, Cirkat, D’Mile, and Jada Love.
Last year, Doechii presented Gaga with the Innovator Award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards. “Growing up, I was very different from most of the people around me, and everything around me represented a community of alternative kids who were underrepresented in my environment.”
The respect was mutual. A few months later, Gaga said in an interview with British Vogue that “the power of her words, her vulnerability, the way she rhymed with wild combinations of boldness and emotional precision, struck me to the core.”
The song was first heard in the film’s final trailer. Gaga will also make a cameo appearance in the film.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is a sequel to the 2006 film that follows Runway Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) as she attempts to navigate her career in a world where print journalism is dying out. Miranda is soon confronted by her former junior assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt). Charlton is now a powerful executive in a luxury group with advertising dollars that Priestley desperately needs.
Gaga is currently on tour, finishing the final show of her Mayhem Ball tour. Her final show will be in New York on Monday, where she is scheduled to perform at Madison Square Garden.
