Kylie Jenner’s former assistant, Victoria Villarroel, knew she needed to quit her job after their relationship entered unprofessional territory.
“I remember like it was yesterday. This was my fifth year,” Villarroel began on Thursday’s episode of the podcast “Better Half,” which he co-hosts with Jenner’s friend Stassie Karanikolaou.
“We were in the kitchen and[Jenner]said, ‘Vic, I need your laptop. It’s upstairs.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, who’s going to get that?'” she recalled with a laugh.
“I said something weird like, ‘Oh, it seems far away, I don’t want to go get my laptop.'”
“Obviously, me and Kylie had a working relationship, but there’s no way you wouldn’t be that close with someone you see every day,” Villarroel explained of his relationship with the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star.
“You know everything about them and are always with them, for better or for worse.”
Villarroel said that when “we got to that point,” she and Jenner looked at each other and there was a kind of mutual agreement that her time as Jenner’s assistant had come to an end.
“I remember being so nervous and thinking, ‘Am I making the right decision? What if I end up leaving the best job I’ve ever had?'”
She said people were “in earshot” telling her not to quit a job “where people would die.”
When she ultimately told Jenner about her departure, the Kylie Cosmetics founder told Villarroel he would continue to support her in any future endeavors she chose.
“She was the most understanding person. She was like, ‘Oh my God, Vic, I want you to grow. I’m going to be here to support you and I love you so much.'”
Villarroel quit her job as Jenner’s assistant in January 2020. At the time, it was reported that she quit her job to pursue a career as an influencer.
“Kylie and Victoria remain friends and close,” a source told Us Weekly. “Kylie has no hard feelings and is supportive of Victoria doing what she wants.”
The two have remained very close over the years, and Villarroel was part of Jenner’s inner circle.
