Kylie Jenner appeared on the premiere episode of Kid Cudi’s new podcast, Big Brother. During the interview, she talked about raising her children in public and how her daughter Stormi started asking questions about the Kardashian-Jenner family’s fame. Jenner also shared a rare comment about her relationship with actor Timothée Chalamet.
Kylie Jenner spoke unfiltered about her life in a rare podcast interview. We sat down for the premiere episode of the new series Big Brother with Kid Cudi, hosted by the beauty founder and personality.
“This is a really unusual alignment because I don’t do a lot of podcasts,” Jenner told Kid Cudi. “2026, my last year really, is about doing something outside of my comfort zone to make life a little more exciting.”
During the interview, Jenner talked about expanding her creative career, including her recent acting debut in The Moment. “I think this was my childhood dream…I had the best time. I felt safe and protected,” she said. “I liked it so much that I wanted to do more.”
She added that she is also experimenting with music again. “I went back to the studio to try some things and find my sound. Everything was kind of dark and slow. Maybe it’s because I don’t feel comfortable singing in the higher octaves.”
However, much of Jenner and Kid Cudi’s conversation focused on how Jenner’s relationship with fame has changed over the years. “I don’t know if there’s a perfect recipe[for dealing with fame],” she said. “I’m really proud of myself. I think I did a really good job.”
She reflected on how she started filming Keeping Up with the Kardashians as a child and how her perspective on the famous reality series has changed since becoming a parent. (Jenner is the mother of two children, Stormi and Ayre.) “I was 9 years old when we started the show,” she told Kid Cudi. “I looked at my daughter, she was 8 years old, and I thought, ‘Oh my god.’ In a year, you’re going to be the age I was when I was exposed to all that stuff.’ Times were different back then. There was no Instagram.”
Jenner continued, “I think just protecting things that I think need protection, which is relationships. I’m just trying to protect myself. And I think I have a really thick skin, and it’s very needed. I kind of know that if there’s a bad story or something, it’s going to come and go.”
She said her focus now is staying grounded. “I have a family, I have children back home who love me very much, but I have no idea what’s going on in this world,” she said. “They definitely keep me grounded.”
That perspective has also shaped the way she thinks about kids growing up online. “When Stormi turns 15, I don’t know how to deal with it,” Jenner said. “I don’t know how[fame]will affect them, but it’s really scary.”
She also spoke about the realities of daily life as a mother. “It’s definitely a lot,” she explained. “I wake up at 7 a.m. If I don’t wake me up, they wake me up. But I like to wake up 20, 15 minutes before they do. I want to get some coffee and get some clothes on. If you’re a coffee drinker, you know that.”
She went on to say, “Motherhood has definitely changed me for the better…The rediscovery of that love and the wonder I felt through their eyes was amazing. I was young when I had my first child, so I feel like I was just coming of age. And I couldn’t get over the excitement of childhood. It all happened so quickly.”
She recalled explaining the origins of her family’s reality show to Stormi and then showing her daughter an episode of the series. “She asked me the other day, ‘Why are we famous?'” Jenner said. “‘Why is our whole family famous?’…I sat her down and said, ‘We started a TV show when I was a year older than you, so we’re all in this together.’ She was like, ‘Can I watch it?’ And I’m like, ‘Of course.’
Jenner said watching the show together had an unexpected impact on her. “I got really emotional after that,” she told Kid Cudi. “I don’t know what hit me, but I almost cried in my bed… feeling grateful for everything we had built, but also grieving the closeness we had when we all lived under the same roof. It was very emotional. I never expected it to hit me like this.”
Jenner also reflected on starting Kylie Cosmetics at a young age. “That came from me as a 15-year-old,” she said. “I was obsessed with makeup… then I noticed that my followers were starting to get obsessed with what color lipstick I was wearing. I really wanted to do this.” She added that she funded the company herself and maintained full ownership from the beginning. “I put all my money I made on the show, owned 100 percent of my company, and just got on with it.”
When it came to marketing, Jenner said her approach at the time was unconventional. “I thought, ‘No, I’m just going to post on Instagram.’ It wasn’t like I was posting on Instagram to promote my brand. I thought, ‘This is where my fans are and this is what I’m going to do.’ ”
During an interview with Big Bro, Jenner was asked to name her favorite movie from her boyfriend Timothée Chalamet’s body of work, and she also spoke briefly about him. “It’s hard for me because I really love all of them,” she said. “Call Me By Your Name is pretty perfect. And I love Dune. I’ve seen Wonka about seven times.”
