Kyle Chrisley, the 34-year-old son of Todd and Julie Chrisley, allegedly became violent with police officers and threatened to kill them during his arrest in Tennessee on Saturday night.
Deputies responded to a call after Kyle’s wife reported that her husband was “belligerent,” walking in the middle of a two-lane road, and following her in a car, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement to Page Six.
“As we attempted to speak with Mr. Chrisley, he immediately became aggressive and began lunging at the deputy, throwing punches and assaulting him,” the office told us. “After an altercation and the use of OC spray, Mr. Chrisley was taken into custody.”
According to an affidavit obtained by TMZ, Kyle’s wife said Kyle had made suicide and murder threats, refused to answer police questions and detailed that he punched three officers in the face. He also said Kyle told officers he was going to kill them all.
Police also said in the affidavit that Kyle admitted to drinking approximately 64 ounces of beer during dinner with his wife and appeared to be under the influence.
He was arrested and charged with three counts of assault on a law officer, domestic violence, public intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to court records.
He was also charged with three additional charges of retaliation for past actions.
Kyle has been arrested numerous times over the years.
In March 2023, he was detained on suspicion of aggravated assault after allegedly brandishing a “fixed knife” during an argument with his boss.
His wife Ashley Chrisley denied the allegations in an exclusive interview with Page Six.
“Kyle has a knife for work, but he never pulled it out or brandished it or used it on anyone,” she said, initially claiming the argument was a verbal altercation.
“The other man pushed him away and the situation became physical,” she claimed. “Kyle has PTSD, so it was more self-protection on Kyle’s part.”
In May 2019, he was arrested in Oklahoma for drug possession.
At the time, he also had a warrant out for his arrest for allegedly making death threats to his ex-partner earlier that year. However, the charges were later dropped because her ex-husband did not cooperate with the investigation.
Kyle has had a tumultuous relationship with his famous parents over the years.
The couple legally adopted daughter Chloe, 13, in 2016 after Kyle struggled with substance abuse.
In an episode of The Chrisley Family: Back to Reality that aired in September, Todd said Kyle visited the reality star in prison while he was serving time for fraud and tried to reconcile.
“He apologized for his involvement and for what he had done,” Todd said. “And he said, ‘If I could take it back, I would, but I can’t. I’m asking if I can recover from this and move forward.'”
But Todd said at the time that was “not possible.”
