Are blondes really more fun? Kris Jenner is about to find out.
The Kardashian-Jenner mom, 69, debuted a dramatic icy blonde bob on Wednesday, bidding farewell to her signature jet-black hairstyle for the time being.
Jenner posted several photos on Instagram of her hairstyle with side-swept bangs and a blunt cut, calling out hairstylist Chris Appleton and Shark Beauty’s Shark Glam launch event, held at the CUT Lounge at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, as an opportunity for a change-up.
“Had some blonde fun tonight! 👩🏼🦳🍸,” she captioned the merry-go-round.
One commenter joked, “Kris and Kim are hanging out here on a whimsical Friday 😂,” and the post racked up nearly 10,000 likes overnight.
“It’s hot 🔥,” Paris Hilton said.
The mother-of-six looked sophisticated at the event, teaming her platinum hair with a black leather blazer and a gold collar necklace with a green stone in the center.
Appleton also gave a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her transformation in a playful Instagram video set to Sabrina Carpenter’s viral hit “When Did You Get Hot?”
In the clip, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is seen sitting in a salon chair without makeup and with a towel wrapped around her head. As she mouthed the lyrics, “Wait a minute, wait a minute,” she held her hand over the camera for the unveiling, then lifted the camera to reveal a completely polished look.
“I wore that black pixie for so long, I couldn’t look at it anymore,” Jenner joked during a Q&A at the event, according to Us Weekly. “I think the kids are excited that I tried something new.”
However, this change is not permanent. “So, you know me, tomorrow we’ll be back in the black,” she admitted.
The hair change is just the latest in Jenner’s recent appearance updates. Back in April, the mom debuted a noticeably refreshed look that set the internet abuzz, but she later revealed it was the result of her second facelift. Page Six exclusively reported that it was done by Dr. Stephen Levine.
“I had a facelift about 15 years ago, so it was time for a refresh,” she told Vogue Arabia in August. “I decided to do this facelift because I wanted to be the best version of myself. It makes me happy.”
Jenner, who celebrates her 70th birthday in November, has spoken candidly about her approach to aging and cosmetic procedures.
“Just because you’re older doesn’t mean you should give up on yourself,” she opined to the magazine. “If you’re comfortable in your own skin and you want to age gracefully, and you don’t want to do anything, then don’t do anything. But to me, this is what growing old gracefully is. That’s my version.”
