After all, BAFTA will be embracing the year’s biggest animation phenomenon.
EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Lei Ami – best known for singing the songs Rumi, Mila and Zoe of the band HUNTR/X in Netflix’s hit Kpop Demon Hunters – will perform the film’s record-breaking anthem “Golden” at the BAFTA Film Awards ceremony on February 22nd.
“Performing at the EE BAFTA Film Awards is a golden moment that our young generation could never have imagined!” said EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Ray Ami. “We are very proud to represent Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunter and spread the film’s positive message to fans around the world.”
News of this performance, which will be the trio’s first live show outside of the United States, comes after KPop Demon Hunters was ruled ineligible for nominations for the BAFTA Film Award as it did not meet theatrical release requirements.
Released in June 2025, “Kpop Demon Hunters” became the most popular movie in Netflix history, with over 500 million streams. Meanwhile, its headline track “Golden” has been the top streaming song of 2026 so far (with 4 billion total streams and counting) and topped the Billboard Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks. Among the many records set by “Golden,” it became the first female K-pop song to reach number one on the chart, securing the longest number one position by a female group in the 21st century. Last weekend, the song won the award for Best Song Written for Visual Media, becoming the first K-pop song to win a Grammy Award.
“KPop Demon Hunters has had an incredible impact on the hearts of audiences of all ages around the world since its release last summer, so we’re thrilled that HUNTR/X’s talented singers will be bringing their K-Pop energy to next month’s EE BAFTA Film Awards,” said Emma Baer, Executive Director of Awards & Content at BAFTA. “We’re not only here to celebrate great films and their makers, but we also want to create an unmissable night of entertainment. We can’t wait to roll out the EE BAFTA Film Awards red carpet for such an iconic trio.”
The British Academy Awards ceremony will be held at the Royal Festival Hall in London and will be hosted by Alan Cumming. The awards will be broadcast live on the BBC in the UK and will also be broadcast for the first time on E! in the usa
