“Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is off to a great start in the ratings.

The Game of Thrones prequel drew 6.7 million viewers across all platforms in its first three days of availability. According to HBO, this will be one of the top three series in HBO Max history.

For comparison, Season 2 of the Emmy Award-winning medical drama “The Pit” drew 5.4 million viewers in three days when it premiered in early January, while the Season 4 premiere of “Industry” drew 800,000 viewers in the same period.

“A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” has already been renewed for a second season on HBO. This is one of two “Game of Thrones” prequels currently airing on HBO alongside “House of the Dragon.” Season 3 of the show is scheduled to begin later this year.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is based on George R.R. Martin’s novel series The Tales of Dunk and Egg. Peter Claffey stars as the tall Duncan “Dunk” Sir Duncan, and Dexter Sol Unsel stars as the diminutive servant Egg. The cast of the series also includes Daniel Ings, Bertie Carvel, Danny Webb, Sam Spruell, Sean Thomas, Finn Bennett, Edward Ashley, Tanzin Crawford, Henry Ashton, Youssef Karkoul, Tom Vaughan-Lawler, and Daniel Monks.

Martin co-created the series with Ira Parker. Both will serve as executive producers, with Parker also serving as showrunner. Sarah Bradshaw, Owen Harris, Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis will serve as executive producers, and Owen Harris and Sarah Adina Smith will direct. Season 1 consists of 6 episodes.
