Kit Harington recently told E! News broke that Harington and Turner, who played Jon Snow and Sansa Stark for nearly a decade on all eight seasons of HBO’s Game of Thrones, which ended in 2019, said it was “weird” to kiss while filming the new horror movie. Harington and Turner reunited last fall on the set of “The Dreadful.” Turner said on Late Night with Seth Meyers in August that it was “despicable” having to kiss her former on-screen brother Harington.
“She was the one who sent me the movie, and for some reason she couldn’t understand what I saw in it,” Kitt told E! News while promoting her new role in Apple TV’s “The Family Plan 2.” “I thought, ‘These guys are lovers, right?'” I found that very strange. But it was a great opportunity to be with her again and work with her…She’s about a foot taller than me, so it was a little embarrassing having to climb onto the apple box to kiss her. But apart from that, my dignity was completely intact. ”
Harington added in the interview, “What was great was that we got on set together and our friendship was completely rekindled. It felt like we were together as a family. It really was.”
Set in the 15th century, “The Dreadful” follows Anne (Turner) and her stepmother, Morwen, who live on the fringes of society. When a man from her past (Harrington) returns, he sets in motion a chain of events that forever changes Anne’s life. The film, written and directed by Natasha Kermani, also stars Marcia Gay Harden, Lawrence O’Ferline, and Jonathan Howard.
Turner appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers in August and first revealed that he had to film a kissing scene with Harington.
“So I sent Kit the script, and he texted me back like, ‘Yeah, I’d love to do that, but this is going to be really weird, Soph,'” Turner said. “And I was like, ‘What is he saying?’ And then I was reading[the script]and I was like, ‘Kiss, kiss, sex, kiss, sex…’ and then I was like, ‘Oh, shoot, that’s my brother.’ We put that out of our minds and when we get to the set, it’s our first kissing scene and we’re both gagging. Really, that’s despicable. It was the worst. ”
The release date for “The Dreadful” has not yet been announced.
