Reality competition show “King of Drag” has been renewed for a second season on LGBTQ+ streaming service Revry.
Casting applications for season 2 opened on Tuesday.
“The success of Season 1 made it clear that the reign of drag kings is upon us,” said Christopher J. Rodriguez, Revely’s co-founder and chief creative officer. “This community has been competing for years for a platform to highlight their unique take on drag, and they have embraced this show as their own, which is a huge honor for us. We are also honored to once again welcome Elf Cosmetics as the presenting sponsor for the triumphant return of this beloved series. We couldn’t ask for a better partner to unleash a new group of extremely talented drag kings onto the world stage.”
Season 1 was hosted by Somebody Somewhere star Murray Hill. Guest judges included Tony Award winner Cole Escola, Lisa Rinna, director Paul Feig, Bridget Everett, Lysia Clarendon, Jeff Hiller, Landon Seider, Vico Ortiz, Liv Hewson, Mo B. Dick, Brian Michael Smith, Carmen Carrera, Jackie Beat, Aubrey Shea, Kathleen Hanna, Cameron Esposito, and Kylie Sonique Love.
The regular jury consisted of Sasha Velour, Gottmik, Tenderoni, Wang Newton, and Revry co-founder and CEO Damian Pelliccione. After several weeks of competition, King Molasses was chosen as the winner.
“‘King of Drugs’ brings this art to the global attention it always deserves,” Pelliccione said. “Season 1 proved that we have genuine fans and a global audience. We are building Season 2 for them and for a new group of drag kings who are ready to share their talents with a global audience. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for everyone involved.”
The first season has garnered more than 32 million views to date, more than 30 million social media impressions and more than 3.8 billion press impressions, LeBry said. The series also earned two nominations for the 2026 Queerty Awards.
Season 2 is scheduled to air in the fall.
