King Charles knows exactly what his wife wants, especially when it comes to shoes!
The founder of British shoe brand Sole Bliss met the monarch earlier this year.
“The king was relaxed and personality,” Lisa Kay recalls people. “He seemed to be really interested in our business and knew a lot about the Queen’s preferences. I felt like chatting with my husband who pays attention to what his wife likes to wear.”
King Charles, 76, also commented on his wife’s favorite heel style, saying, “She likes the heels that aren’t narrow.” When Kay stated “Yes, Block Heels,” the king enthusiastically agreed: “Yes, Block Heels!”

For Kay, who has been supplying Camilla with shoes since 2018, she had to stop talking about the business as the brand quickly expands its menswear line.
“I absolutely wanted to give the king our boys shoes!” she said. “But I thought it could be a little too far from Royal Protocol.”
The brand currently stocks casual menswear shoes, but is looking to expand its line to include smart, formal shoes. This is a natural step for Kay, who founded the company in 2017 after realising the gap in the luxury but supportive shoe market.
“Our boys shoes were a huge success when they first launched and we’re very excited to see where this expansion goes,” she says.

The June meeting was the highlight of the career of a fashion entrepreneur at Windsor Castle to celebrate being one of the 197 recipients of the King’s Enterprise Awards, one of the best accolades for British companies.
“I am honored to be chosen to receive it,” she says. “I really feel that this is a turning point for us, and I’m proud of my team and the efforts that have made me achieve this milestone.”
Queen Camilla certainly spreads the word. She currently owns only 11 pairs of Bliss Shoes and recommends the brand to Kate Middleton, who owns platform sneakers. Her fellow actresses, Judi Dench and Joanna Lumley, are huge fans, just like Oprah, who chose the mysterious boots for last year’s annual Christmas gift guide.

Camila’s favorite is Ingrid, a classic court shoe featuring almond-shaped toes and 2-inch block heels, but a popular choice among celebrities is Remy. The style, co-designed with Hollywood stylist Elizabeth Stewart, features 5-inch platform heels, metallic colours and bright velvet fabrics, worn by Drew Barrymore and Julia Roberts.
One of the only common blissful designs is the comfortable technology approved by a podiatrist. The shoes have three layers of memory foam and stretch panels or “bunion beds” on the inside of the foot, inside the foot.

“There are many brands that design shoes that are perfect for the Queen, but no one prioritizes equal comfort in aesthetics on the same level as us. Our shoes stand the test of time, as the Queen has proven.
