Kim Novak has expressed concern about her upcoming biopic starring Sidney Sweeney.
Iconic actress 92 gave an unusual interview with the Guardian who commented on “Scandalous!” – an upcoming film about the real-life romance between herself and Sammy Davis Jr. – and its bold title.
“I don’t think the relationship is scandalous,” Novak explained.
“He’s the guy I really cared about. We had a lot in common, including the need to accept who we are and what we are doing.”
“But I’m worried that they’re going to make it all sexually,” Novak added.
Sweeney plays Novak on the other side of British actor David Johnson, playing the legendary entertainer.
Novak and Davis Jr. were romantically involved in 1957, but their relationship ended after Columbia’s photo boss Henry Cohn had signed a deal.
Various reports say that Corn threatened Davis with mob violence.
Sweeney’s “Euphoria” co-star Colman Domingo directs “Scandalous!” Filming has not started yet.
Sweeney, 27, has already begun channeling Novak. At the 2025 Met Gala, she wore a sparkly black beaded floor-length Miu Miu gown with a gold brooch inspired by the “dizzy” actress.
Sweeney told Vogue that her appearance was a homage to the dress Novak wore in the 1967 film Legend of Lylah Clare.
Sweeney is at the heart of the controversy this year for her business venture. The actress was criticized for selling water in her bath, and her American Eagle Denim Campaign was accused of being accused of promoting eugenics and “Nazi propaganda” using plays of the words “genes” and “jeans.”
Sweeney refused to discuss the Wall Street Journal and American Eagle ads in her first interview since the scandal broke, but she fought back against those who have trouble selling soaps that have been injected with her bath water.
“It was mainly a girl commenting on it, but I thought it was really funny,” Sweeney told the outlet, pointing out that she perceived as a double standard. “They all loved Jacob Elordi’s bath water idea.”
