Kim Kardashian’s latest TV appearance has hit a snag.
The reality star’s new comedy pilot, “Group Chat,” failed to find space on Hulu despite being in development for nearly two years.
Variety reported last Friday that a project based on Kardashian and Lala Anthony’s book The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex and Happiness was rejected by the streaming platform.
The 45-year-old was set to narrate “Group Chat” and serve as an executive producer.
When the show was announced to air in August 2024, Kardashian said she was “incredibly interested in telling personal, complex (and) relatable stories from[her own]experiences and from people who are familiar to[her].”
Anthony, 43, called the series, which stars him, Yaya DaCosta, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Melanie Rivard and Stephanie Sganami, “fun and relatable” on his podcast Vibes & Views the following year.
“I’m so excited,” she said in June 2025. “Kim and I always wanted to do something together, but it had to be the right thing. One day I said, ‘Hey, you signed this deal with Hulu. What are we doing? Let’s sell this show.'” And so Group Chat was born. ”
The project has since been canceled, but Variety reports that the friends will instead serve as executive producers on an untitled comedy series from Tracy Oliver.
The show follows “the Bay Area’s most popular crisis manager for professional athletes.”
“Her own life was completely changed by her husband’s scandal.”
According to the series’ logline, the character “looks to three women who have been by her side through every version of her life, and together they navigate the fascinating turmoil of dating, ambition, motherhood, and starting over.”
Representatives for Hulu, Kardashian and Anthony did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Kardashian has appeared on television since 2007 as a cast member on Keeping Up with the Kardashians and The Kardashians, and landed her first scripted role in Disaster Movie the following year.
Her subsequent projects include “Seduction: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor” and two “Paw Patrol” films.
The Skims creator’s acting career took a turn when she starred in Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story: Delicate and All’s Fair series.
Her upcoming projects include the film Bratz as the villain and the Eva Longoria comedy The Fifth Wheel, co-starring Will Ferrell, Nikki Glazer, Brenda Song and Fortune Feimster.
Kardashian’s sister Kylie Jenner also recently tried her hand at acting on Charli XCX’s The Moment and told Kid Cudi on the Big Brother podcast last week that she “absolutely” thinks she can do more.
“I don’t know where I’m going with this,” the 28-year-old makeup mogul admitted to listeners. “I like making people laugh and expressing my personality.”
