Kim Kardashian has revealed that she failed the California bar exam. The SKIMS founder has been pursuing a degree for six years. She released a statement about her determination to continue.
On Saturday, Kim Kardashian posted a statement about failing the California bar exam and shared an update on her journey through law school. The SKIMS founder took this difficult exam earlier this year in hopes of obtaining his bar license. In a heartfelt message to her followers, Kardashian explained that she still has a lot of work to do on her path to becoming a lawyer.
“Well…I’m not a lawyer yet. I just play a well-dressed lawyer on TV,” he said, referring to his role in Ryan Murphy’s All’s Fair. “Six years after starting this legal journey, I am still fully committed to passing the bar exam. I will not take any shortcuts or give up, I will only study more and become more determined.”
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star went on to say that the setback only served as further motivation.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me along the way,” she said. “Failing is not a failure. It’s energy. I was so close to passing the exam, so it gave me even more motivation.”
In 2021, Kardashian passed the first-year law student exam, also known as the “baby bar,” and will pass the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) in early 2025.
In Vogue Italia’s July 2023 cover story, Kardashian talked about studying and having the process taped on her popular TV show. She said her efforts have brought her closer to her eldest daughter, North West.
“My daughter was with me,” she said. “For a long time, she had difficulty understanding why I was studying all the time. She saw me fail and cry and understood how she was no different from me worrying because of tests.”
Furthermore, she added: “But when she saw me crying with joy, I knew she understood how important that accomplishment was to me personally. … You’re only allowed to take the baby bar a certain number of times, and this was my last one, so if I don’t pass, this law school journey is over for me.”
