All’s fair of love and fashion.
Kim Kardashian has faced a wave of hate from fans after her new Hulu show received low ratings, as well as widely perceived fashion missteps on the series.
Many social media users mocked the reality star, who plays lawyer Alura Grant on the show, for revealing the thong of her work suit in one episode.
“She would have looked attractive if the thong wasn’t showing, so why not? It makes the show even more unrealistic. Who the hell would hire that lawyer?” one Reddit user commented.
“She could never win the case because the judge rejected everything she said due to her lack of professionalism,” another shared.
“What a great effort. She takes everything she does…never takes anything more seriously than what she looks like,” added a third user.
“There’s no thong sticking out of the 2000s-style low-rise bottoms. It’s CUTOUT. Cleavage??” another person wrote.
In the episode in question, Kardashian, 45, showed off her derriere in a Jean Paul Gaultier spring 1997 pinstripe skirt suit. The suit had a cutout in the back where she showed off her maroon thong.
She previously teased the outfit with a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos from her “All’s Fair” fitting on Instagram, which included about 20 different looks from the show.
In a TikTok on Friday, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum further explained her fashion on the show, telling her followers that the outfit was “one of my favorites” but felt “so crazy to shoot.”
“I think the fashion[of All’s Fair]is its own personality,” Kardashian said.
According to the show’s official synopsis, “All’s Fair” follows successful divorce attorney Alura Grant (Kardashian) and her all-female law firm in Los Angeles.
The series also stars Teyana Taylor, Niecy Nash, Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, and Jessica Simpson.
But even the star-studded cast didn’t seem to be enough to overcome other shortcomings. The Ryan Murphy-backed film premiered on November 4 and received a 0 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and some harsh critical reviews.
USA Today’s Kelly Lawler called the show “the worst TV show of the year,” and The Hollywood Reporter’s television critic Angie Hung called it “brain-dead.”
Han also said that Kardashian’s performance was “stiff and emotionless, without any real sound. … Her very presence, so successful at generating buzz, feels appropriate for a show that is less likely to be seen than mined for viral snippets.”
But Kardashian proved she can take negative comments on the chin when she promoted the series on Instagram on Thursday.
“Have you watched the most critically acclaimed show of the year yet!?!?!?,” Kardashian captioned an Instagram slideshow. “All’s Fair is now streaming on @hulu and @disneyplus.”
