Kim Kardashian has responded to her daughter North West’s fake face tattoo and piercings after receiving backlash online.
West, 12, recently shared a bold look on TikTok with a star drawn under his right eye and his name written in cursive on his left cheek. She styled her long blue hair into a braid and wore an artificial septum ring and black grills over her teeth.
After Daily Mail Australia shared a TikTok video with the headline, “12-year-old North West worries fans with new look,” Kardashian responded with a comment from the kimandnorth TikTok joint account.
“This is not a problem at all 😭,” she wrote.
Fans also defended West in the comments, with one user writing, “I’m so glad social media didn’t exist when I was going through my teenage experimental self-discovery phase. The internet is crazy people.”
Another commenter wrote: “Big news for unemployed and childless people. The North West is going through the pre-teen phase.”
Another supporter wrote, “She’s just a kid playing in costume with her friends…what’s the problem?”
A TokTok video West shared showed her and two friends wearing similar styles on a private jet.
Despite the negative comments about their looks, that didn’t stop the mother-daughter duo from having fun on the app. On Friday, they posted pictures of themselves dancing while wearing wigs. Kris Jenner also had fun shooting water pistols with Kardashian and West.
Kardashian previously defended her eldest son’s right to self-expression after West faced criticism for wearing a corset top and miniskirt during a family vacation in Italy, but acknowledged that “mistakes” had been made.
“It’s so hard and so funny because all the kids are wearing the same thing,” Kardashian said during an appearance on “Call Me Daddy” earlier this month. “But when my daughter tried to wear it, I was like, ‘Okay, I’m not going to wear it anymore.’ Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world.”
The 45-year-old mother of four said she found West to be “a very good kid, a very kind kid” after all.
“She listens to me, but other than that, she’s like, ‘Baby, if you want blue hair, that’s fine,'” she added. “You know, it makes her so happy. I’ll never take that creativity away from her.”
“I think anyone who’s raising kids, especially someone who’s raising four kids on their own, is doing the best they can,” said Kardashian, who has daughters North and Chicago, 7, and sons Saint, 9, and Psalm, 6, with ex-husband Kanye West.
