Kid Rock posted a video to the Kid Rock was widely criticized for lip-syncing to “Bawitdaba” because it was blatantly out of sync with the actual music at various points during his performance. Kid Rock denies such accusations against X, writing, “I do not lip sync like the haters and fake news are trying to report.”
“That song is chaotic,” Kid Rock explained in a video post. “First of all, if I was going to lip-sync, which I wouldn’t do, it would be the last song I would ever lip-sync. We’ve played this song every night on tour since 1998, from the day we released it. Turning Point USA sent me the first cut, and my comment was, ‘It’s out of sync.'” They were trying to line it up… It was very difficult for them because obviously they weren’t that familiar with the song. I could have done it if I had more time. ”
“So I have nothing but good things to say about Turning Point, but also the production team that they’re working with,” Kid Rock continued. “Nobody’s perfect every time. But for the haters and trolls out there, that’s exactly what happened. By the way, most people know this. Some people in the entertainment world might look at that and think, ‘Out of sync.’ But they had to lie and say, ‘Oh, he lip-synced.’ And people amplify this on the internet. And I know most people don’t care, but certain people keep repeating it, so people think it’s true. And this continues on both sides. They did it all too often (claiming it was lip syncing) to defend Bad Bunny…when he was on “Saturday Night Live”…especially among the fake news media, leftists, and deranged mobsters. ”
Kid Rock was widely ridiculed on social media after he allegedly lip-synced during the Turning Point USA halftime show while Bad Bunny gave an incredible live performance at the Super Bowl. Jimmy Kimmel quipped that Kid Rock has a “lip-sync war with himself,” adding that MAGAs often “complain about how bad everything is, and then do something even worse.”
In an interview on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” the night after both halftime shows, Kid Rock said of Bad Bunny’s performance, “Like most people, I didn’t understand anything. I saw a lot of dancers and a lot of big things to do. And, you know, he said he wanted to have a dance party, and it looked like he had a dance party.”
Kid Rock continued, “It’s not my fault, but I don’t blame that kid for going to the Super Bowl and being in front of a worldwide audience. I blame the NFL for putting him in that position, for the turning point where they had to have an alternative way to come out and be seen by people. You know, just the poor kid.”
