It’s toxic.
Kevin Federline and Britney Spears’ marriage was “never the same” after the singer “slapped” him in the face during an argument, the singer claims in his new bombshell memoir You Thought You Knew.
The former backup dancer claims the Princess of Pop “became violent” after Federline’s friend dropped marijuana at her home, according to excerpts obtained by Us Weekly.
He claims they had sex with the Grammy winner while she was holding one of his sons.
The outlet did not say when the altercation occurred, but the former couple welcomed Sean Preston and Jayden in 2005 and 2006, respectively, and claimed they stopped arguing when their youngest child was one month old.
Federline, whose divorce from Spears was finalized in 2007, wrote that the slap “will not be the last time” the relationship turns violent.
The 47-year-old’s book, which will be released on October 21, also details the “last straw” that led ex-lovers to break up.
Federline claims he walked in with the actress during Spears’ album release party “smoking a fat Coke from a table.”
Spears claims that when Federline urged her then-partner not to breastfeed their young children after the alleged drug use, as the National Library of Medicine recommends “24-hour abstinence” from breastfeeding after taking cocaine, Spears threw a drink in her face.
“Her reaction. That’s what ended us,” he told readers, adding that the ensuing divorce proceedings “happened so fast” that “I couldn’t even catch my breath.”
Federline makes a number of bombshell statements on “You Thought You Knew,” ranging from allegations that Spears drank “half, if not more,” of wine during her pregnancy to cheating on her with a backup dancer.
Sean Preston and Jayden also wrote that they once woke up to find their mother asleep with a “knife in her hand.”
A representative for Spears did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on the slap allegation, but pushed back on the revelations in general.
“He and others are profiting from her,” a spokesperson told Us on Wednesday. “Unfortunately, this was after child support with Kevin was terminated.”
Spears similarly took to social media to call the book a “blank lie” and denounce Federline’s “constant gaslighting” as “very hurtful and exhausting.”
