Kevin Federline claims his children, who live with Britney Spears, once woke up to see their mother sleeping “with a knife in her hand.”
The dancer, who was married to Spears from 2004 to 2007, makes the shocking revelation in her upcoming memoir, You Thought You Knew, according to excerpts obtained by The New York Times.
“Sometimes I would wake up in the middle of the night and find her standing quietly in the doorway, watching them sleep. ‘Oh, are you awake?’ — with a knife in her hand,” Federline, who shares sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, with his ex-wife, alleges in the book.
“Then she turned around and drove off without any explanation.”
Recalling the alleged story, Federline, 47, expressed concern that something “bad” would happen to her children if she did not intervene.
“The truth is, this situation with Britney feels like it’s heading toward something irreversible. It’s become impossible to pretend everything is okay,” he added.
“From where I’m sitting, the clock is ticking and it’s getting close to the 11th hour. If this continues, something bad will happen. My biggest fear is that my sons will be left behind.”
Spears’ representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Spears, 43, has a complicated relationship with her sons, and only returned to their lives after moving to Hawaii with their father in 2023.
Fans have become increasingly concerned about Spears’ mental health since her conservatorship ended in 2021.
Just last month, Spears’ loved ones began to worry about her after she was allegedly living in squalid conditions in a squalid mansion full of dog poop.
The “…Baby One More Time” singer defended herself by writing on Instagram, “Shame on those who criticized my house for wearing pajamas!!”
Spears previously posted a video on social media of herself dancing with a “fake” knife.
In 2023, TMZ founder Harvey Levin claimed in the documentary Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom that he slept with a knife under his bed.
Meanwhile, Britney’s estranged sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, claimed in 2022 that her sister once held Britney at knifepoint.
However, Britney denied this claim, writing to X, “I have never been near you with a knife and I have never even thought of doing anything like that!!!”
“The only knife I saw you holding at home was when you cut the biggest pumpkin I’ve ever seen in my life. It was too big for me to cut,” she added.
Ms. Federline’s memoir is scheduled to be published on October 21st.
