Britney Spears allegedly took cocaine while breastfeeding her two sons, according to bombshell statements from Kevin Federline’s memoir.
In “You Thought You Knew,” the Princess of Pop’s ex-husband claims the incident happened at the release party for her 2006 album “Playing With Fire,” according to excerpts obtained by Us Weekly.
The “Toxic” singer, 43, had originally said she was going home with her two sons, Sean Preston, now 20, and Jaden, 19, so Federline was surprised to see her and her stepfather at the party.
“I was happy that[Jamie Spears]decided to come and support me,” Federline recalled. “He looked over, shook his head, and gestured toward the locker room door. His expression sat in a flat, blank space between disapproval and apprehension, as if to say, ‘She’s here, and that’s not good.'”
Federline claims that when she opened the door, she “saw Britney and a friend of hers, a young star athlete, smoking fat cokes from a table.”
“They both wore outrageous wigs. Britney’s wig was electric blue. It was surreal. They didn’t even try to hide it.”
Although Federline does not name the woman in his book, he describes her as “an actress who was about to explode in a life-changing role.”
Federline said Britney’s brother Brian Spears and agent Jason Trawick were also present in the room where Britney’s alleged drug use took place.
Sean Preston and Jaden were 1 year and 1 month old at the time, and their marriage is said to have ended that night after Federline asked Britney not to breastfeed.
According to the National Library of Medicine, “a 24-hour no-lactation period is recommended for women who occasionally use cocaine while breastfeeding.”
Federline remembers saying, “Don’t just go home and breastfeed your kids. Call your mom or someone. You need to get formula. You can’t do that.”
Britney allegedly threw a drink in her then-husband’s face, and he reportedly told readers: “That was the proverbial last resort, breastfeeding. Her reaction. That’s what ended us.”
The Grammy winner began divorce proceedings days after Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, sent Britney legal documents asking her to stop breastfeeding her young children.
“Everything happened so fast,” Federline wrote, “I couldn’t even breathe.”
The couple had been married for just two years when Britney filed for dissolution in November 2006, but their divorce was finalized in July 2007.
Britney’s representatives have not yet responded to Page Six’s request for comment on the cocaine allegations, but on Wednesday they fired back at the “sensational” claims in Federline’s memoir.
“The news coverage from Kevin’s book has once again allowed her and others to profit from her,” the spokesperson said. “Unfortunately, this was after child support with Kevin was terminated.”
As for Britney, she slammed allegations of “white lies” in her album You Thought You Knew, which will be released on October 21st, via X on Wednesday.
“The constant gaslighting from[my]ex-husband is extremely hurtful and exhausting,” she wrote in part.
