Kevin Federline fears ex-wife Britney Spears’ DUI arrest isn’t the end of her fight.
The former backup dancer broke his silence on the incident Friday in a statement from his attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan.
A statement obtained by TMZ reads: “Kevin wishes Britney nothing but the best and hopes that she will not resist, or those who seek to work with her, should she need help.” “The concern is, is this a one-time thing or another one?”
Kaplan also maintained that he has been in contact with Spears’ attorney since her arrest, but that he and his client have no knowledge beyond what has been reported.
Shortly after the pop star’s arrest, a source close to Federline exclusively told Page Six that it was her revealing memoir that ultimately led to her coming into contact with the law.
The source claimed that Spears has been on a “downhill” spiral since his book, You Thought You Knew, was published in October 2025.
“But the truth is that this has been going on for a while. Over the past few months, her behavior has become increasingly erratic. She has gone from energetic to lethargic.”
The source continued, “What really pushed her over the edge was Kevin’s book, and it was all downhill from there. It had a big impact on her emotionally.”
Spears, 44, was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of drunk driving after she was spotted weaving in and out of traffic in her BMW.
The “Toxic” songstress was believed to be under the influence of a cocktail of drugs and alcohol and underwent field sobriety tests before being taken to the hospital to have her blood alcohol level determined.
She was arrested at 3:02 a.m. the next day and released three hours later. Spears is scheduled to appear in court on May 4.
Sources confirmed to Page Six that an unknown substance was found inside Spears’ BMW and is currently in a lab for testing.
Her arrest came five months after the publication of a book that made shocking allegations about Federline’s drug use, abuse and alleged extramarital affairs.
The DJ claimed she often displayed “abnormal behavior”, including taking cocaine while breastfeeding her two sons and standing at their doors at night with a knife.
Spears denied all of Federline’s claims and accused her ex-husband of “profiting off of (her) pain” in her memoir.
Days after Federline’s book was published, Spears was spotted getting swerved after going to a restaurant in Thousand Oaks for a night out with friends.
The following month, she sparked concern when she was caught emerging from another restaurant with a champagne flute in her hand, although she was not behind the wheel.
In the weeks leading up to his arrest, the Grammy winner fired his sobriety coach and security guard and made some decisive changes.
