Keshet International is set to release the adapted comedy-drama ‘Reset’ in London screenings.
Adir Miller will write, direct and star in Reset, a dark comedy about a man who is mistakenly told he has a terminal diagnosis, for Keshet International.
The eight-episode comedy-drama stars Emmy Award winner Miller (Traffic Light) as Gidi, a 50-year-old man who is given the shocking news that his time is numbered. Believing he is going to die, Gidi completely changes his life by abandoning his job, marriage, and relationships. But when the diagnosis turns out to be wrong, Gidi must reckon with the wreckage of her life.
This program’s exportable format is specifically designed for broadcast in local markets. Each episode is 60 minutes. When it began airing in Israel, it became the highest-rated drama premiere in the country in the past five years.
“Reset” is produced by Artza Productions for Keshet 12, with global sales handled by Keshet International.
“I always write about situations that I know from my own life,” Miller said. “I’m 50 now, so the midlife crisis is no longer a theory, it’s a fact. I started asking myself: If I thought I was about to die, would I do all the things I wanted to do one last time? And if I had to continue living, would I regret it? This is a very serious question. That’s why it’s so funny. I believe that ‘resetting’ is personal, but also universal. We all dream of starting over…until we realize we actually have to deal with the problem, the consequences. ”
Kelly Wright, MD of Distribution at Keshet International, said: “In classic Adir Miller style, ‘Reset’ combines a universally relatable life crisis with a bold comedic engine that is fresh and adaptable. Turning big emotional truths into comedic gold is exactly why Miller’s work has resonated around the world for nearly two decades, and why ‘Reset’ is an attractive opportunity for international buyers.”
Keshet International will screen Reset during a scripted showcase at a London screening on February 24th.
