Netflix has announced the first trailer for season 3 of “The Diplomat,” starring Keri Russell and Bradley Whitford. The season will premiere on October 16th.
Season 3 follows Ambassador Kate Wyler (Kerri Russell) after hatching the terrorist plot and denounces Vice President Grace Penn (Alison Janney) and admits she is after VP’s work. However, it is revealed that Kate’s husband Hal (Rufus Swell) may have inadvertently killed him after the death of the president. Kate has to go into a role she never wanted. She has freedom she didn’t expect, an increasingly complicated friendship with Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (David Gyasi), and an uneasy bond with First Gentleman Todd Penn (Bradley Whitford).
Season 2 ended with a bomb explosion in central London following the aftermath of the event in Season 1. The series follows Kate Wyler, who tries to piece together potential bomb-heads, to find out who in the UK government is responsible for thwarting the country. As Kate begins to dig deeper, she balances her relationship with her almost ex-husband, finding a dark web of lies and deception.
“The Diplomat” stars Ali Anne, Rory Kinnear, Atto Essando, Seria Imley, Michael McKeane, Nana Mensa and Miguel Sandoval.
“The Diplomat” is created by showrunner and executive producer Debora Cahn. Additional executive producers for the series are Russell, Janis Williams, Alex Graves, Peter Noah and Eritre.
