Kelly Ripa started the week with a makeup fail.
On Monday, January 5’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the TV host said her morning beauty routine has gone haywire.
“I woke up this morning feeling very confused,” she began. “We were on vacation, so I didn’t know where I was. I don’t like getting up, so I started getting ready a little bit in the dark. You know, I don’t like lighting up my room. I don’t want my bedroom lit up when I start putting on makeup.”
Ripa, 55, continued: “So I reach for my foundation stick and start applying it. And something doesn’t look right, but I keep going. I just keep adding more and more and more.”
“And if I look weird this morning, it’s because I had contour all over my face,” she added.
Then Ripa’s husband and co-host Mark Consuelos interjected and told his wife, “You look so great!”
“Well, I’m very nice,” Ripa replied. “I look like I’ve been somewhere. People go, ‘Oh, you look tanned.’ That’s not true. I used Contour Stick as my foundation.”

Ripa also started Live with Kelly and Mark on Tuesday, Dec. 9, with a wardrobe malfunction.
As the cameras rolled, Consuelos, 54, opened the show by asking, “Are you changing?”
“I’m still getting dressed,” Ripa admitted with a laugh as she adjusted her blouse. “Guys, I’m not going to lie. Ten seconds ago I wasn’t wearing any clothes at all, and now I’m like half dressed.”
Consuelos then teased, “Let me look into it.” But Ripa waved him off. “No, no, there are a lot of things missing. I’m missing a belt.”
“Looks good,” he assured her.
“Look, it’s okay. We’re all in this together,” she said as she continued adjusting her ensemble. “I think the fly is up. It’s okay. It’s okay. We made it somehow.”
The couple, who married in 1996, have hosted Live together since April 2023, when Consuelos joined the show as a permanent co-host. The pair are known for their candor and lighthearted humor, frequently showing viewers the turmoil of their real lives.
In 2024, they won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host. In October, the syndicated show won the 2025 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series, marking the second time Live has won that trophy.
