Kelly Clarkson made a triumphant return to the stage during her Las Vegas residency. That night was full of surprises.
The “Where Have You Been” singer, 43, performed his first studio session show on Friday, Nov. 7, after several months off. During a concert at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, she oversaw a fan’s proposal to her boyfriend and another couple’s vow renewal ceremony.
In a video of the proposal shared online, Clarkson can be seen standing on the edge of the stage, holding out a microphone to the crowd. Below her, in the pit area of the venue, a man knelt on the floor and held out a ring while his stunned partner stood with his hands covering his face in shock.
“Speak louder!” Clarkson yelled encouragingly.
Then the man knelt down and asked, “Will you marry me?” Before her partner could answer, Clarkson playfully urged, “Say ‘yes’, bitch!”
“Yes, bitch!” he gamely yelled into the microphone, eliciting lots of applause and cheers from the audience.

After the man put the ring on his partner’s finger, Clarkson said, “It looks so nice!”
The couple, who revealed they were visiting from London, assured the Grammy winner: “You’re invited to the wedding now.”
Things then took a humorous turn when Clarkson jokingly told the pair to “please ignore the next song.”
“Stay in the moment, hang out there, you know what I’m saying? Let’s go to the bathroom. I don’t want to poop on your parade,” she said, explaining that the song “starts out like this” — at a happy relationship milestone — “but then it ends[in a very different way].”
Another romantic moment unfolded later in Clarkson’s set, as the star helped the couple renew their vows after 10 years of marriage.
“Did you make it 10 years? Oh, yeah, look!” Clarkson can be heard exclaiming in a video shared online.

One half of the couple then gave the musician a piece of paper with their vows written on it and asked him to read it. Clarkson playfully pointed out that she couldn’t officially host the ceremony, joking, “But I can do it online tonight, and I’m sure it will,” before taking a good-natured jab at her fellow coach on The Voice.
“If Blake Shelton can do this, anyone can do this,” she joked. “They’ll let anyone do it.”
“Is this as classy as you expected?” she jokingly asked the couple.
Clarkson then continued reading the vows. “Do you both promise to continue dancing together for the rest of your lives? This is great! — quirky or not, will you continue to dance together for at least another 10 years?” she asked at one point.
When the couple answered, “Yes,” Clarkson replied, “Oh, that’s it! 50, 60. Aim high! Just saying.”

She concluded the ceremony by declaring, “With the power of Kelly Clarkson, I declare that you are still married and still amazing.”
Friday night’s show was Clarkson’s first Las Vegas residency concert since her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock passed away on August 7th. After several months off from performing, the “Since You’ve Been Gone” singer announced on Instagram on November 3 that she would be returning to the Colosseum stage from November 7 to 15, as well as adding new performance dates in July and August 2026.
