Keith Urban repeatedly attempted nasty interview questions about his estranged wife, Nicole Kidman, in the weeks leading up to news of their split.
The country’s hitmaker looked visibly offensive when he appeared on Australia’s Gold 101.7 “Jonesy & Amanda” radio show in one particular interview starting September 2, just weeks before Kidman filed for divorce from him, and when asked about the Oscar winner and his “amazing love story.”
“If both of those days weren’t there, would your paths have inevitably crossed somewhere? Or this incredible life story would not have happened,” Amanda Keller said in video footage in the interview.
“No, I think so,” Urban replied vigorously, turning his attention to opening a bottle of water. When asked if he believed “destiny” would come up, the singer replied “I won’t think about it.”
As Keller stuck to the line of questions, Urban replied, “You never know. Anyway, move on.”
The radio show’s official Instagram account re-shared the clip on Monday, captioning it:
And that’s not the only thing that has made the city look uncomfortable while talking about Kidman in recent months.
In a July interview with Ryan Seacrest, “Sweet Things” singer 57 chuckles awkwardly when the TV personality asked him about the iconic movie star’s busy schedule.
“Do people say your wife is in everything? Like everything. Nicole Kidman is in everything,” Seacrest asked.
Urban listened quietly as Seacrest gushed out like Kidman’s recent TV and film appearances. “Is it something in mapping it all in your life, her life, and production and touring? That’s work, right?” Seacrest continued.
The musician replied vigorously, “That’s work. Yes,” and “Life is in session.” The Grammy-winning musician was quiet and unrepresented as Seacrest meditated on the pair’s nearly two years of marriage and how “great pride” was in making time for each other.
Page 6 confirmed Monday that the power couple, who married in 2006, split up after 19 years of marriage and two children.
“Sometimes, relationships just run the course,” the insider previously told Page 6, adding that the “Big Little Lies” star “didn’t want separation and was trying to save things.”
Nevertheless, Kidman on Tuesday filed for divorce, including a child-rearing plan for his daughter, Sunday Rose, 17, and 14, cited “irreconciliatory differences.”
Meanwhile, Urban is said to have already moved on, sources told TMZ on Tuesday. “All signs refer to the fact that Keith is with another woman,” the actress told the outlet. “However, Nicole doesn’t dispute that, but she’s still shocked by it.”
Kidman, 58, watched chat and hike with his sister Antonia in Nashville on Wednesday.
