The photographer behind the unusual PDA snapshots of Kate Middleton and Prince William at the latest state banquet is taking a closer look at the romantic photos.
On September 30th, Matt Porteus shared a zoom-in view of intimate images that previously appeared in the Instagram stories of Prince and Princess of Wales.
Porteus took the charming portraits of Prince William and Princess Kate before a state banquet at Windsor Castle on September 17th. This was held in honor of President Donald Trump’s visit to the UK, and his latest Instagram post revealed that he also took a photo of himself.
“One frame. Pure elegance, held in time forever,” Portus captioned a snap of the Instagram grid.
The shot was a close crop of photographs that the 43-year-old Prince and Princess of Wales shared on Instagram’s story on September 17th, the night of the state’s banquet.
The photos were taken from behind and outside, showing the couple holding hands on a rare display of the royal PDA.
The “behind the scenes” team drew on top of the image on the couple’s Instagram stories, taking advantage of the popular Instagram feature that will disappear after 24 hours.

Porteus was one of Prince William and Princess Kate’s go-to photographers, taking photos of them for special occasions, including Christmas cards with the children, 12, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, 10 and 7, and the family’s birthday.
A zoom-in view of his hand-held drawings attracted attention from others in William and Kate’s orbit who showed support in the comments section.
Natasha Archer, Princess Kate’s trustworthy 15-year trustworthy personal assistant, revealed that she has left her royal role to establish her own private consultant.

“The Magical 🤍🤍🤍pl” writes Philipparepley, the bridal designer behind Princess Kate’s couture gold and white ensemble and the bridal designer behind the state banquet.
Their comments were not the only notable wealthy thing – Princess Kate’s brother, James Middleton, gave a snap from his personal Instagram profile as well.
The Prince and Princess of Wales rarely share public displays of affection, making Portus’ cozy close-ups a standout photo moment.
