Nothing says “Aspen Chic” like an unexpected fashion flashback.
While the rest of the A-listers are busy achieving quiet luxury in head-to-toe designer vintage, Kate Hudson is leaning into a louder, groovier holiday aesthetic.
This week, the “Glass Onion” star was spotted at an Aspen boutique with her fiancé Danny Fujikawa, 7-year-old daughter Lani, and a small white dog, braving the cold in a bright orange corduroy set that looked like it was pulled straight from a 1970s ski lodge.
But if the outfit looks familiar, it’s because Hudson is a certified outfit repeater with an eye for good luck charms.
Style lovers will recall that she wore this exact same burnt orange ensemble in March 2025 to cheer on the Lakers with her nephew Wilder from their usual courtside perch. The appearance comes just weeks after season 1 of her hit Netflix comedy Running Point took the streaming world by storm in February.
In the series, Hudson plays Ira Gordon, the first-ever female president of the legendary (and very Lakers-esque) basketball franchise. Clearly, the corduroy is a nod to her on-screen “court presence,” and it looks like she’s not ready to retire that look just yet.
But this time, despite a disappointingly snowless week in Aspen, Hudson swapped out her sleek sock boots for rugged Sorel Caribou snow boots, proving that corduroy is indeed the most versatile fabric in a sports enthusiast’s winter wardrobe.
This is a big week for the founder of Fabletics, who is currently trading the running point whistle for a microphone. Her much-anticipated new music biopic, Song Sung Blue, will officially hit theaters on Christmas Day this year. Co-starring Hugh Jackman, Hudson plays one half of the real-life Neil Diamond tribute band duo. And it’s already getting great reviews…at least from her brother Oliver.
Between the basketball courts, concert stages, and Aspen slopes, one thing is clear. That said, Kate Hudson is having a very bright and very orange year.
