Kat Stickler was spotted on a date with a mystery man just days before reports of her relationship with John Mayer surfaced.
A TikTok video shared by Stickler on Sept. 28 shows the content creator, 30, at an outdoor restaurant, wearing a sheer black top layer over a black bra and rummaging through a black leather purse. “Oh don’t worry, I get it,” she wrote above a clip of the man across the table. Only the man’s body from the chin down was visible.
The hilarious video ended with Mr. Stickler removing a small brown dog from his bag instead of a wallet. “No, I know,” she captioned the upload, set to Kelly Clarkson’s hit song “Breakaway.”
Fans quickly speculated that Mayer, 47, was her date, wearing a black polo shirt and rocking a slightly graying goatee.
One person wrote: “This is John Mayer,” while another said: “John Mayer, you bitch. I just heard the tea.”
Some people were surprised by Stickler’s dog-in-a-purse gag. “If you gave me 1,000 predictions, none of them would have been a wallet dog,” one social media user wrote. Another chimed in, along with a laughing emoji: “I really thought for a second she thought she was worried about the bills.”
Some followers weren’t sure if the man in Stickler’s TikTok was the “Gravity” hitmaker.
“Definitely not John Mayer,” one follower wrote, while another added: “I don’t think so. John Mayer doesn’t have that much of a beard on his chin and it’s thicker than this guy. Also, this guy doesn’t have a cleft chin like John.”
Representatives for Meyer and Stickler did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
A source told Us Weekly on Monday that Mayer and Stickler have been spending time together. “John tracked her down and chased her,” a source told the publication.
“Kat had just broken up with someone she had been dating for a few months and thought it would be fun to date again and was interested in John.”
Although their reported relationship is “still very new,” the pair have been spotted together several times, with Dumois reporting that the two were seen sitting on the same side of a booth and “very touching” at a private club in New York City last Friday. The following night, the two were photographed hanging out at a fly fish club, fueling dating speculation.
“He is actively pursuing her, inviting her to his place and texting her frequently,” a source for Us Weekly revealed. “She’s interested and watching how it goes.”
Although the internet personality “doesn’t think this will turn into a serious relationship,” she is “enjoying” spending time with the “Your Body Is a Wonderland” singer, a source revealed.
Mayer has been linked to a long list of A-list lovers, including Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry.
Stickler previously dated “The Bachelorette” alum Jason Tartick and has a daughter, MK, with ex-husband Mike Stickler.
“Sad to share that Kat and I are no longer together,” Tartick wrote on her Instagram Stories in October 2024. “I love with all my heart, but it’s no exaggeration to say that I fall easily. Sometimes things work out in life, and sometimes things don’t work out. This time it didn’t work out.”
Stickler also confirmed the breakup on Instagram, calling it “amicable.” But, she said, “It didn’t work out.”
