“Coyotes,” a survival thriller starring horror comedy and real-life partners Justin Long (“Barbarian”) and Kate Bosworth (“Strod Dog”), was purchased for the UK and Ireland by Signature Entertainment.
This film – from director Colin Minihan (“The Encounter of the Grave”, “What Seep You Alive”) – recently had a world premiere at Austin’s Fantastic Fest.
The “Coyotes” must fight for survival when they get caught between a fierce wildfire and a savage pack of coyotes, following their family trapped in a Hollywood Hills home. The summary is billed in the summary as “a fiercely paced creature feature that meets sugar-coated home invasion thrillers in comedy.”
Along with Long and Bosworth, Mira Harris (“Mary”), Brittany Allen (“Genius”) and Katherine McNamara (“Shadow Hunter”).
This feature is produced by Ford Corbett (“Sam & Kate”), James Harris (“Autumn”, “Marmalade”), Joshua Harris (“We Are Dead”), Nathan Klinger (“Bad of Bad”), and Jib Polyemus (“Old Man”), and is written by Tad Daggerhart (“Excendables 4″. Pyramid”
“Coyotes is a truly offering film with great performances from Justin Long, Kate Bosworth and his co-stars and the brilliantly realized beast,” said Signature’s Chief Commercial Officer Elizabeth Williams. “At one moment, it’s hilarious and so intense that you bite your next nail, I’m sure British and Irish audiences will have a hard time finding another horror thriller that is more enjoyable than this.”
Speaking to Variety, Bosworth recently revealed that she first read the “Coyote” script and encouraged her to be involved for a long time.
“My favorite movies are those that ride on the edge of razor horror and comedy. There’s a genre mashup,” she said. “This script certainly reads that way, and when we see Colin’s “What Keeps You Living,” it’s a really great movie. Having worked in this industry for a long time, he had challenging suppressions in certain places and chose to contain them in certain ways.
