Is it too late to say sorry?
Justin Bieber reflects on the “tension” that occurred during the August 2024 birth of his son Jack, admitting he had a confrontation with Hailey Bieber over a “headbutt” with her doula.
The 31-year-old singer explained via Twitch on Monday that he felt like his doula was “pushing[him]away” when he felt he “needed to comfort” his wife.
“Being a father and being there is instinctive,” the Grammy winner explained during the stream, and while he appreciated his doula’s desire to “help facilitate,” he said, “I want to be there, too.”
At the time, Hailey, 28, was feeling “insecure” about how “strong” Justin was being with his defenders.
“She was like, ‘I need to apologize to my doula. I need you to clear the air,'” Justin recalled.
The songwriter explained that “emotions were running high” and apologized.
He asked doulas to “don’t take away his moments as a father,” adding, “I have good instincts about this, too.”
A representative for Haley did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The skincare mogul didn’t attend Monday’s candid talk, but she spoke about her birth experience to Vogue in May.
The new mother told the publication that her water had broken and she was induced at 39 weeks because her amniotic fluid had leaked.
“It was really crazy,” she recalled of having a Foley balloon inserted into her uterus to dilate her cervix. “That wasn’t fun.”
The Lorde author, who went into “several hours of labor” without an epidural, also opened up about the “horrible” post-natal complications she suffered after Jack’s arrival.
“There was really bad bleeding,” she said. “When someone dies, that thought crosses your mind. You start to get a little scared.”
However, Hayley added, “I trust my doctors with my life, so I was at peace knowing she wouldn’t let anything happen to me.”
She and Justin celebrated their baby boy’s first birthday this summer, and Hailey shared photos of the boy’s camp-themed party on Instagram.
The pair wed in 2018 and are still going strong despite rumors of marital discord earlier this year – something Justin admitted on his album Swag.
“When you said ‘forever,’ baby, did you mean it?” he asked on “Daisies” in July. “If it’s not right, baby, you know I respect that / But if you need time, take it easy.”
The pop stars’ subsequent “Swag II” record was released two months later and provided an update on their relationship with beloved lyrics that knew they were “sure to succeed.”
