Cheers to the winners of the narration performance category of standout characters from the 76th Creative Arts Emmy Awards!
Julie Andrews won her role at Bridgerton at the 2025 ceremony held in Los Angeles on Saturday, September 6th. Presenter Craig Robinson accepted the award on behalf of Andrews, who was not present.
Other candidates included Hank Azaria (Simpsons), Maya Rudolph (Big Mouth), Alan Tudik (Andru), Jeffrey Wright (What if…?) and Stephen Yong (Invincible).
Andrews won her narration job as Lady Whistledown in Bridgeton’s episode “Into the Right.”
When she appeared on the 2022 Today Show and discussed her role in the Netflix hit drama, the actress revealed that she hasn’t actually met her co-star yet.
“You know I’ve never met the company in person,” 89-year-old Andrews told co-host Hoda Kotobu. “Of course, I see them on shows occasional occasions. But I do all my recordings far away from them.”
Bridgerton premiered on Netflix in 2020. Romantic dramas from the Regency era track the lives of the respected families of British high society and their romantic pursuits through the lens of mystical gossip columnist Lady Whistledown.
Produced by Shonda Rhimes and produced by Chris van Dusen on the book series by author Julia Quinn, the show is as popular in its storyline as its scenic location.
“I think it looks gorgeous, they’re all great and they’re nice people to work with,” Andrews was asked today what she thinks about the series. “Shonda Rymes and the whole gang are down, they’re amazing, and I’m excited that they asked me.”
Andrews was nominated for the Emmys for her role as Bridgeton in 2021 and 2022 and Whistle Down in Queen Charlotte in 2023.

“The neat story I always want to hear is between a father and daughter, a mother and a son,” he said. “K-2 and Rogue One are family-connected.”
“For kids, ‘God, wow, kids are growing fast because everybody dies.’ For me, that would have been traumatized, but I was a kid in the ’70s,” he added.

Wright takes on his role. What… of… on Disney+?
Wright, 59, told Marvel.com that the character is “interesting.”
“He has these strange powers that we have never actually witnessed before. He has access to these worlds and he has an almost singular vision for him,” he explained. “There was a lot to be excited, play around and try to grasp. Watcher was featured on the cover of the 1963 Fantastic Four as the most dramatic figure in all universes.”
“If you’re asked to play something like that as an actor, you’re a bit interested! It’s all about that drama,” he added. “He was born in an interesting way in the Marvel universe and popped out on the moon with the Fantastic Four, and wanted to know who he was.
In this year’s Emmy, he also became an excellent guest actor in the drama series due to his last role as our Isaac.

Yeun won nominations for his narration work for the episode “What Did I Do?” Invincible.
The animated series touches on the father-son relationship and encourages Yeun as a lead actor to reflect on his own father’s journey.

The beef actor shares two children, daughter Ruth (6 years old) and son Jude (8 years old) with his wife Joana Puck.
