Julia Roberts and Emma Roberts appeared on New York Fashion Week on Tuesday for their first co-red carpet appearance in 13 years.
The aunt’s duo was adjusted with a head-to-toe black ensemble accentuating matching Auburn hair.
Julia, 57, opted for a sharply tailored suit, pairing her oversized blazer and barrel-leg pants with a crisp white shirt and striped tie. She accessorized with Jack Emas ankle boots ($1,190).
This look felt like an intentional callback to the famous Armani men’s suit and tie worn at the 1990 Golden Globes.
The Oscar winner is a Versace Navy blazer and striped shirt from the Venice Film Festival this year, and is again leaning into suits attractively this year.
She is on the promotional trail for Luca Guadagnino’s enthusiastically anticipated psychological thriller “After the Hunt,” starring Ayo Edebili and Andrew Garfield.
The actress also fronted the first issue of 72 Magazine, a new venture by British Vogue alumni Edward Enninhull, which will hit the newsstand on September 12th.
Emma Roberts, 34, provided feminine foil for her aunt’s more traditionally masculine tailoring in a floor-length black chiffon column dress with spaghetti straps and draped back.
The “American Horror Story” actress skillfully slaps her hair in a low ponytail and carried Jack Emmas’ small obalo bag ($890).
With the carpet removed, she was busy building a belt list, defending female writers and choosing literary works on the screen in a production venture that she co-founded.
Roberts women have more in common than style chops. Both are working mothers. Julia shared three children with her husband Danny Moder, and Emma welcomed her son Rhodes in 2020 with actor Garrett Hedland.
Family fashion moments were unusual. The pair last walked the carpet together in 2012 for the indie film “Jesus Henry Christ.”
On Monday night, they proved it was worth the wait, sharing a cheek kiss greeting and laughed at the launch of his champagne with designer Simon Porto Jaquemas and Veuve Clicquot at Central Park.
