Jude Law said he had no worries by taking on his latest role.
The 52-year-old actor will play controversial Russian President Vladimir Putin, the upcoming political thriller, the Kremlin Wizard, who marked the world premiere at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival on Sunday, August 31st.
The law said he was not scared of him to play 72-year-old Putin, who along with director Olivier Assay and co-stars Paul Dano, Alicia Vikander, Tom Sturridge and Jeffrey Wright, appearing at the film’s press conference.
“I would like to be unsimple, but I wasn’t afraid of the impact. In the hands of Olivier and the scriptwriter, I was confident that the story would be told intellectually and with nuance and consideration,” Law said.
“We weren’t seeking controversy because of the controversy,” he added. “It’s a broader story character. We weren’t trying to define anything about anyone.”

The law confirmed the cast in an interview with deadlines in January. According to the outlet, the Kremlin wizard looks at the law in a supportive role and follows Putin in the “beginning of his governing career.”

“It’s often the way I feel while I say ‘yes’,” the law added. “I went, ‘Oh, my god, how do you do this?’ Anyway, that’s what I’m going to sort it out. ”
The Kremlin Wizard is based on a 2023 book of the same name by Giuliano da Empori, and was reported in May 2024 in a French filmmaker assay, 70 years old, Emmanuel Carrere.
Dano, 41, leads the film as Vadim Baranov, an artist-turned television producer who commands “directing the whole society like lies and truth, news with propaganda, one great reality show” and “working at the heart of Russian power.”
“Only his love for the magnetic and free Xenia can keep him away from this dangerous game,” the outlet added.
At the annual festival, the assay states: “This film is very important about 21st century politics, how 21st century politics was invented. And part of it brought the power of Vladimir Putin to Russia, so we made a film about the very scary and dangerous situations that we all feel are there.”
“We took the case, a concrete story of Vladimir Putin, and I think that applies to many leaders,” he continued.

The Venice International Film Festival will be held until Saturday, September 6th. The official release date for the Kremlin Wizard has not yet been announced.
