Josh Hartnett was hospitalized in Canada after a car accident with a Canadian police vehicle last week.
The 47-year-old actor was on his way home after filming an untitled Netflix series when the car he was in collided with a Royal Newfoundland Constabrary (RNC) patrol vehicle.
According to an RNC press release released on September 25th, two vehicles collided at an intersection just after 1am, causing serious damage to both vehicles.
A 59-year-old male driver and a 47-year-old male passenger of the SUV, whose CBC reports Hartnet, were sent to hospital for minor injuries. The male officer also went to the hospital as a precaution.
The case is currently under investigation.
Hartnett’s rep tells Page 6 that the actor has been released from hospital and has returned to work.
According to The Streamer, Hartnett began production on the upcoming Netflix Limited series in August. The show will be held in Newfoundland and revolves around a small Canadian town that is the target of mystical sea creatures. Heartnet’s characters are fishermen who fight back.
The series also stars Willow Keene, Ruby Stokes, Rohan Campbell and Caleb Horn.
There is no release date for the series yet.
Hartnett lives in the UK with his wife, Tasmin Egerton and four children. The private actor made rare comments about his family life when he appeared on “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” in May.
“My kids love giving me crap about being American because I’m the only American in our home,” Hartnett said. “I’m a foreigner in my house.”
“The person in the middle of me really does a good job of impersonating me, just like the Americans,” he continued his joke.
In 2021, the “Oppenheimer” actor spoke about taking a break from Hollywood after appearing in major blockbusters like “Pearl Harbor.” Hartnett told Australia’s morning show “Sunrise.” He said “holding Hollywood at bay” was “the best thing” for his mental health.
“It’s about being able to create a good family life and do great things like making a movie, and that’s a privilege,” he said.
Recently, Heart Net has been in demand.
In March he was spotted filming “Verity” in New York City with fellow A-Lister Dakota Johnson.
