Josh Allen had an emotional reaction to the Buffalo Bills’ ending of the 2025-2026 NFL season, apologizing to his teammates after the loss.
After the Bills’ season ended against the Denver Broncos in the AFC Divisional Round on Saturday, Jan. 17, the 29-year-old quarterback broke down in tears during the postgame press conference.
“It’s very difficult,” Allen said. His wife, Hailee Steinfeld, is currently pregnant and expecting the couple’s first child.
“I feel like I let my teammates down tonight,” the athlete continued through tears.
When asked by a reporter why he had such a strong emotional reaction, Allen explained, “We missed opportunities throughout the game,” adding, “It was a long season. I hate the way it ended. It’s going to stay with me for a long time.”

The top-seeded Denver team will face either the New England Patriots or Houston Texans in the AFC Championship Game on January 25th (team to be determined after the Patriots-Texans game on Sunday, January 18th).

Elsewhere in the postgame press conference, Allen was asked what he said to the rest of the team after the loss to the Buffalo Bills.
“We haven’t talked much,” the athlete admitted. “I love my teammates and I’m very disappointed and I’m very disappointed that it ended the way it did.”
The 2025-2026 NFL season will conclude with Super Bowl LX on February 8th at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
