JoJo Siwa is ringing in the new year with a rebrand.
Siwa changed his TikTok profile to use his full name Joel Siwa instead of his nickname Jojo.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday’s TikTok, the dancer teased her “plans for 2026” while lip-syncing to her 2016 song “Boomerang.”
Siwa, who rose to fame as a child star on the reality show “Dance Moms” in 2015, uttered the lyrics, “I’ll come back like a boomerang.”
Many fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts on her subtle name change.
“Her changing her name from JoJo to Joel has got to be the biggest draw ever!!!” one social media user wrote. “2026 is going to be incredible!!!”
“Joel feels so real. Wishing you all the best in 2026,” another follower chimed in, while a third added: “2026: The year of Joel Siwa.”
Alongside announcing her full name in 2025, Siwa, 22, also debuted a brand new romance with her Celebrity Big Brother co-star Chris Hughes.
“Chris is literally[my]best friend and like family. Whenever I go to England, I’ll definitely go see him,” she gushed to the Post in May. “That person changed my life. I want to say that with my feet on the ground.”
Siwa and Hughes, 33, first met on a British reality show and immediately hit it off.
“I told him this on the last day, and I actually told him more along the way… and I spoke about this publicly. He’s supposed to be in my life, but I don’t know, he’s just, he’s Chris,” the artist revealed.
“He was Mr. Christopher and was meant to be in my life. I’m so grateful he’s in my life right now,” Siwa continued. “And I’m grateful that now I don’t have to live my life without him. Well, he’s just Christopher.”
The TV star added about her time in the Big Brother house, explaining, “I think it was a really great experience. It taught me so much about myself. It taught me what I want my life to be and what I need to do with it. And it was so much fun. But as soon as I leave the house, I go to a party of 200 people and the whole staff is there. It’s crazy, it’s a whirlwind.”
A month later, Siwa confessed that she felt “pressured” to come out as a lesbian in 2021.
“When I came out at 17, I said, ‘I’m pansexual, I don’t care,'” she told Daily Mail’s YOU magazine in June. “But then I locked myself away and said, ‘I’m a lesbian.’ I think I did it because I was under pressure.”
People in the LGBTQ+ community also added pressure.
“From people I know and partners I’ve had,” Siwa said. “If you say, ‘Oh, I’m a lesbian,’ you’re just thrown into a world where you feel like you have to be a lesbian. And the truth is, sexuality is fluid.”
While appearing on “Celebrity Big Brother,” the star realized he was queer.
“It feels so weird, you know what I’m saying?” she told fellow contestant Danny Beard at the time. “I’ve always told myself I’m a lesbian, but I think I came here and realized, ‘Oh, I’m not a lesbian, I’m queer.’ And I think that’s really great.”
“I left L for Q, baby!” cried Siwa. “That’s what I like about sexuality.”
