John Legend’s birthday was a total mess!
The singer turned 47 on Sunday, Dec. 28, and marked the occasion with a trip to ThruMoo Institute, a slime experience in New York City, with wife Chrissy Teigen and their four children.
An Instagram post shared by Teigen, 40, showed her having fun with her children, daughters Luna Simone, 9, and Estee Maxine, 2, and sons Miles Theodore, 7, and Wren Alexander, 2.
“One last thing before I leave New York 🥹 I love you @sloomooinstitute!” the cookbook author and former model wrote in the caption. “Love, Crosstoonu, Jaune, Loonoo, Mooroo, Otoo, and Uroon.”
The legend’s Dec. 28 birthday comes in the midst of a busy holiday season for the musician and his family.
The family unwrapped Christmas presents together on December 25th and attended Disney on Ice at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on December 20th.
At the event, all six family members posed with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse and were all smiles for photos.
For years, Teigen has celebrated her husband’s EGOT winner’s birthday with sweet messages on social media.
On the legend’s 40th birthday in 2018, his wife wrote, “You were the best father, hardest worker, best lover, and best friend I could ever imagine. … The world was blessed by the 40 years you spent on this earth.”

And last year, in 2024, Teigen posted a 46th birthday tribute to the legend, revealing what they and their kids did to celebrate his big day.
“All of us, the soul of our home (I am the heart), we love you so much,” Teigen wrote on Instagram.
She added: “Happy 46th birthday. You spent it at 8am taking the kids to the London Bubble Experience. And now we’re heading to The Devil Wears Prada the Musical. ‘Cause you’re going to enjoy any date night.”
