London and LA-based studio Ink Factory is working with Korean production company Vo Media to develop a series adaptation of John Le Carré’s acclaimed spice thriller, The Most Wanted.

The Korean set adaptation will be scripted by Kim Yun-Shin along with Kim Shin-Ho produced by Vo Media. Vo Media’s Park Bo-Keeong will oversee the development along with Junyoung Jang, the Korean executive producer of the ink factory. Executive producers include Tessa Inkelaar, Simon Cornwell, Stephen Cornwell and Michele Wolkoff’s Ink Factory, as well as Joe Tsai and Arthur Wang from 127 Wall Productions.

The 2008 novel focuses on illegal Muslim immigrants who arrived in Hamburg from Russia. The story explores the themes of moral ambiguity in the war between delusion and terrorism.

“John le Carré’s “most wanted man” is not merely about spying or war on fear. At its heart, the story asks: Producer Kim Shin-ho and writer Kim Yoon-shin said. “We were drawn to reinterpret this story within the context of modern Korean history: history characterized by war, division, dictatorship, and countless sacrifices created in the name of security.”

“The “most wanted man” is a heartfelt exploration of trust, power and morality that is deeply relevant today,” says Simon and Stephen Cornwell, founders and co-CEOs of Ink Factory. As we continue to expand our global heritage of Ruakare, we will be the first partner to win Vo.thigplott Projects. It brings a clear Korean perspective to this fascinating story and rethinks Le Carré’s complex world of spy through a fresh cultural lens for Korean audiences. ”

Park Bo-Keeong of Vo Media added: “This collaboration allows us to adapt one of Le Curre’s most human and politically keen works.

Founded by Park and Kim in 2015, Vo Media offers credits such as “Why Her,” “I Can Hear You,” and “The King 2 Hearts.” The partnership represents the continued expansion of the ink factory into the Asian market following projects like the Hindi adaptation of Disney+Hotstar’s “Night Manager.”
