John Krasinski is returning as Jack Ryan after the Prime Video action series ends after four seasons in 2023. The CIA analyst-turned-deputy director is reprising his role in a sequel film titled Jack Ryan: Ghost War.
The film will feature several returning TV stars from “Jack Ryan,” including Wendell Pierce as CIA Deputy Director James Greer. Michael Kelly as Mike November, a former CIA director turned private security contractor. Betty Gabriel plays CIA Director Elizabeth Wright. The cast also includes Sienna Miller, McKenna Bridger, Max Beesley, Douglas Hodge, and J.J. Field.
Ghost War is the sixth film in the Jack Ryan series based on the fictional character of prolific author Tom Clancy. Alec Baldwin first played Jack Ryan in 1990’s The Hunt for Red October, and went on to co-star with Harrison Ford in 1992’s Patriot Games and 1994’s Clear and Present Danger. Ben Affleck then played the famous role in 2002’s The Sam of All Fears, and Chris Pine starred in the 2014 reboot of Jack Ryan: The Shadow Recruit. Krasinski then brought the series to streaming with his own series in 2019.
Andrew Bernstein, who directed episodes of “House,” “Mad Men,” “The Americans” and “Ozark,” among others, will helm “Ghost War.” The screenplay was written by Aaron Rabin and Krasinski, based on a story by Krasinski and Noah Oppenheim. The film is produced by Paramount Pictures, Skydance Media, Genre Arts, Push Boot, and Sunday Night Productions, and distributed by Amazon MGM Studios.
“Jack Ryan: Ghost War” will be released on Prime Video on May 20th. Check out the trailer below.
