John Cho appears in Apple TV limited series ‘Off Week’

John Cho is the newest addition to the cast of the upcoming Apple TV series “The Off Weeks.”

Cho joins previously announced leads Ben Stiller and Jessica Chastain, as well as other cast members Ariane Moaid, Annaleigh Ashford, and Richard Gere.

The show’s logline reads, “A divorce throws the life of writing professor Gus Adler (Stiller) into turmoil, and he struggles to hold things together during his ‘on weeks,’ during which he has custody of his children. But in his ‘off weeks,’ he falls into a dangerous romance with a mysterious woman, Stella West (Chastain), whose arrival puts Gus’ on-week duties and off-week ambitions on a deadly collision course.”

Cho is a familiar face to Apple viewers, having recently starred in the “Murderbots” series and the second season of “Afterparty” for the tech giant’s streaming division. He recently appeared in the Korean spy drama series “Tempest” which aired on Disney+. Mr. Cho’s other television credits include “Poker Face,” “The Sympathizer,” Fox’s “The Exorcist” and “Selfie.” In film, he is known for playing one of the title characters in the ‘Harold & Kumar’ series and for playing Sulu in the rebooted ‘Star Trek’ films.

He is repped by 3 Arts, UTA and Yorn Levine Barnes.

Stiller will serve as executive producer on Red Hour alongside John Rescher. Chastain will serve as executive producer along with Freckles’ Kelly Carmichael. Alyssa Nutting (Made for Love, Teenage Euthanasia) will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Michael Showalter will direct and develop the project in conjunction with Semiformal Productions and will serve as executive producer alongside Jordana Mollick. Paul Lee and Gabriel Fisher will serve as executive producers for wiip. Peter Principato, Allen Fisher and Brian Steinberg will serve as executive producers for Artist First. Dean Bakopoulos will also serve as executive producer. wiip will be your studio.
