Netflix has given a series order to the A24-produced series “Trigger Point,” starring Joel Edgerton.
According to the official logline, the eight-episode action-crime drama follows “a group of former Tier 1 special forces operators and the FBI agents who pursue them as they work behind the scenes at a private military contractor to sell elite technology to an underground criminal organization.” Edgerton plays Red, the leader of a criminal group.
Harrison Querrey will serve as showrunner and Jeremy Saulnier will direct. Both will serve as executive producers along with Cut To’s Joe Hipps and Patrick McDonald.
Edgerton is currently a household name in the 2026 Best Actor race after playing Robert Greiner in Clint Bentley’s Train Dreams, which premiered at Sundance and was released on Netflix earlier this year. His notable credits include the Star Wars films Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith, the role of Owen Lars in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann’s 2013 film The Great Gatsby, and Richard Loving in Jeff Nichols’ 2016 film Loving. He also wrote, directed, and starred in the films The Gift (2015) and Boy Erased (2018).
Querrey co-wrote the Amazon Prime Video movie Heads of State, starring Idris Elba and John Cena, which was released in July with Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec. Along with Tommy Wallach, he is also a co-creator of Paramount+’s upcoming true crime drama series Unspeakable: The Murder of JonBenét Ramsey, starring Melissa McCarthy and Clive Owen.
Deadline first reported the news.
