Joe Gorga has “forgiven” his estranged sister Teresa Giudice and plans to “move on” with one condition.
“If I’m going to sit down with her and hear her story, it has to be very humble. It has to come from a humble place,” Gorga, 51, said on Tuesday’s episode of the podcast “The Eds.”
“It has to be real, to say, ‘I made a mistake,’ and (then) we can move forward.”
Joe, who confirmed that the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star had texted her to actually meet him, insisted that he “wanted to hear her side of the story” and “see what she had to say about his wife, Melissa Gorga, who also appears on reality show Bravo.”
Joe explained to hosts Eddie Judge and Edwin Aloibu that he is not one to hold grudges as long as he is responsible.
“You can hurt me, but as long as you apologize, I’ll accept it,” he shared, calling himself a “pushy.”
He added that he feels a responsibility to set an example, so he is “not the kind of guy to turn his back on anyone, no matter what they do.”
“If no one makes up, there will never be a truce,” Joe argued. “We have to make up. We have to move on.”
The real estate developer called all the family disputes “nonsense” and wondered: “For what? There’s no reason.”
He told the judge and Arroyave that he “didn’t want to argue” with his sister and that was “not (his) intention.”
Last month, Judith, 53, hinted to Jeff Lewis that she was open to the possibility of reconciling with her brother and sister-in-law.
The olive branch was a shock to Joe, who told the Eds that “it took him a minute” to process it.
However, he insisted, “I’m not the type to say, “I don’t want to talk to you again.” Trust me, she did something terrible to me, but it’s okay. it’s okay. we forgive. ”
As for Melissa, she previously responded to the olive branch at Page Six’s “Virtual Reality” Awards, telling hosts Evan Real and Danny Murphy, “She’s been saying out loud on multiple platforms and podcasts and everything that the door is closing. So the truth is — I’m just confused as to why the door would open or crack a little bit.”
According to Joe, Melissa, 46, has a “heart of gold” and has “forgiven[his]sister over and over again.” But it seems like she wants to do it again.
“She loves me. She loves our family. She’s not here to teach the kids hate,” the father of three said, stressing that neither he nor his wife would say “anything bad” about their aunt.
“We don’t want to raise our children like that. What kind of parents would bring their children into our discussions? That’s our discussion,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Judith, whose rocky relationship with the Gorgas family worsened after her wedding to Louis “Louie” Ruelas in August 2022, said last week that “time will heal things.”
Fans have speculated that the mother of four is keen to make amends with her family in order to secure an appearance on the next season of “RHONJ.”
