As concerns grow over OpenAI’s Sora 2 in the entertainment industry, the legacies of Judy Garland, Jimmy Stewart, Burt Reynolds and other deceased celebrities are being protected in a new likeness and AI protection agreement between deepfake detection company Loti AI and IP management company CMG Worldwide.
Under the agreement, Loti AI’s advanced technology and services will help protect CMG’s portfolio of people and assets, including Burt Reynolds, Christopher Reeve, Ginger Rogers, Harry Belafonte, Jimmy Stewart, John Wayne, Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Raquel Welch, Andre the Giant, Joe Louis and Macho Man Randy, from unauthorized digital use and manipulation. Savage, Rocky Marciano, Sugar Ray Robinson, David Ruffin, Albert Einstein, General George Patton, Mark Twain, Neil Urmston, Rosa Parks.
CMG says its deal with Loti will provide it with “continuous monitoring, detection and deletion capabilities to prevent unauthorized copying and impersonation of our clients’ images and audio across digital platforms.” Lottie said this would “ensure that the world’s most famous people are represented accurately, consented and respectfully.”
The deal is a positive move in the digital rights protection debate, as AI tools like Sora 2, which allow users to create clips using copyrighted IP, make it increasingly easy to develop digital replicas of people who can no longer consent to the use of their likenesses.
“Each of the people we represent leaves a lasting mark on culture, and unauthorized digital reproduction not only jeopardizes their reputation, but also distorts history itself,” said Joey Rosler of CMS Worldwide. “Loti gives us the ability to protect their likenesses and maintain the integrity of the stories and legacies they created.”
“The growing need for technology highlights a new phase in heritage and rights management, as heritage sites and modern talent look to continued digital protection to protect authenticity, reputation and value in an era of near-unlimited content manipulation,” said Loti AI CEO Luke Arrigoni. “We are proud to work with CMG to preserve the timeless likeness and legacy of some of our most famous and culturally significant names.”
Arrigoni added, “This partnership reflects Loti’s commitment to empowering individuals to choose what they share and what they keep private. As synthetic media becomes more prevalent, these protections are fundamental to maintaining trust in the digital world. “Families and estates must have the ability to enforce decisions about how their likenesses are used after death. By protecting the legacy of these icons, we move closer to a future with zero unauthorized content and consent violations.” On the other side of the internet. ”
