Jimmy Kimmel has an offer that President Donald Trump thinks will be “hard to turn down.”
Kimmel joked that Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Colina Machado visited the White House on Thursday to award Trump the Nobel Peace Prize and suggested ways to outdo her.
“Only if you agree to take ICE out of Minneapolis and return them to the border where they belong, I am willing to give you one of the next trophies that I have been honored to receive over the years,” Kimmel said during his Thursday monologue as his sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez wheeled out a cart full of trophies.
“In 1999, I won the Daytime Emmy Award for Best Game Show Host. It could be yours,” Kimmel continued. “Or maybe I like my Clio Award for my work selling shit to people. Or my Webby Award, which is the most prestigious award the internet can give out. Or my Writers Guild Award. It’s a good award. You know it looks good.”
As the camera cuts to a close-up of the placard, Kimmel concludes, “Most of all, I’m willing to hand over the 2015 Soul Train Award for Best White Man.” “The choice is yours. In exchange for leaving the people of Minneapolis alone, I will personally deliver some or all of these to the Oval Office.”
Kimmel focused much of his monologue Thursday on ICE’s growing presence in Minneapolis and President Trump’s recent statements, including his threat to invoke the Insurrection Act. “The Insurrection Act allows President Trump to send troops to Minneapolis to stop the civil war that started when President Trump sent ICE to Minneapolis to start the civil war,” Kimmel said near the beginning of the episode. “I don’t know, but I think you have to look at it from his perspective. Poor guy, he hasn’t been able to revolt for years.”
Mr. Kimmel has been one of Mr. Trump’s most outspoken critics, perhaps even more so since the fall of 2025, when “Jimmy Kimmel Live” was temporarily taken off the air over the late-night show host’s comments about the murder of Charlie Kirk. The suspension sparked a national debate about censorship under the Trump administration.
