Taylor Momsen praised Jim Carrey after they reunited for the first time in 25 years at Saturday’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Upon reuniting with his How the Grinch Stole Christmas co-stars, the musician told People magazine how he was inspired by Carrey’s work ethic as a child actor from a young age.
“I was so happy that he was so protective of me,” she said. “He was always so kind, and the whole experience of filming ‘The Grinch’ and getting to know him so well, even with the makeup on, was just amazing.”
She continued, “Watching artists at work and taking their craft so seriously when I was young left a really powerful and lasting impact on me now as an adult. And I’m excited to be able to pass that on to him as an adult.”
“I haven’t seen him since ‘The Grinch,'” Carey told reporters as they posed together on the red carpet.
Momsen followed up with, “Yeah, it’s been 25 years. This is insane.”
Momsen was five years old when she played the role of Cindy Lou Who. She co-starred with Carrey, who played the titular grumpy Dr. Seuss character who hates Christmas.
Beyond “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” Momsen’s most notable acting role was as Jenny Humphrey on “Gossip Girl.” Her other credits include Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams, Underdog, and Paranoid Park.
In 2010, the actress left acting to focus on her music career as the lead singer of the rock band Pretty Reckless.
